How would the home defences of WW2 fare if another world war was to break out?

Category : blackout blinds

for example:

masking taped windows
sandbags
anderson shelters
blackout blinds

… and all that jazz

would they help if another war broke out?

In non-nuclear war, they would hold up against conventional munitions in just the same way. That said, most nations learnt during the second world war that bombing the population is ineffective actually makes the civilian population more determined to help win the war. In the age of precision munitions, collateral damage would be minimal during strategic bombing campaigns (industrial and economic targets) so civilians would be largely unaffected. Nuclear weapons are, however, a whole other story…

Nope.

You have to come out sometime, unless you think you can out-wait 28000 years until you reach the half-life after a nuclear blast!

Lets see if masking taped windows can stand nuclear blasts shall we!!! and if anderson shelters can protect us from the radiation!
