As an estimate, do Roman shades cost more or less than faux wood blinds?

I can’t move into my new home until December, but want to get an idea of what window coverings will cost. I estimate it would be about $3000 for faux wood blinds for my 2300 sq ft house, but have no clue how Roman shades run. Anyone know??
Would you agree both are still a lot cheaper than plantation shutters?

Roman shades will run you a bit more.

When we moved into our new house 2 years ago, I had the same dilemma, so I decided to put Roman blinds in all the bedrooms and the wood in the rest of the house.

That way, I got the best of both worlds and didn’t pay too much for one or the other! ♥

Well, it depends if you want fabric or wooden (usually bamboo) roman shades. Fabric roman shades will cost you about $20-45 a piece, where bamboo ones will cost you about $30-50. Faux wood blinds will cost you about $15-40. Overall, the faux wood blinds should cost you a bit less, so if you absolutely love roman shades a lot more than faux wood shades, go for it!

Save yourself a lot of money by making some of your Roman Shades. You could do the larger windows yourself, then spend the money for what you want on the remaining windows. See instructions below for making your own Roman Shades.
Good luck!
